I'm Bernie Wales, founder of HoneyBee. I provide consultancy and mentoring for motivated leaders who want to improve their business - proactively taking action to progress and achieve.
Over the past 40+ years, I've been very successful in founding and building businesses. However, it has not been all positive, and there have been some costly learnings along the way. Those experiences have helped shape my business brain to where it is today. I'm older and wiser - and still have a laser focus on what's working well, what's a problem, and the actions needed to progress a business positively.
I can help you avoid similar mistakes and challenges.


My Business Story So Far
I started my first business back at the beginning of 1984. It was a leasehold property management business - which I started from the spare bedroom of my rented flat in Fulham, London - and built until it was managing 10,000+ units across London and the Home Counties. In 2002 I sold it to four of my employees - and it continues to this day.
I sold my second property management business to the owners of my original business. A third property management business followed, which continues to grow, without my day-to-day involvement these days.
Over the years I've created several other businesses - ranging from cleaning, gardening and maintenance ... through property investment and buy-to-let ... leasehold property advice and training ... to WordPress websites and SEO. Most were successful, apart from a couple of expensive errors. But each provided useful lessons and experiences ... which I call upon when helping business owners and leaders today.
Sensible Business Advice
I'm known for "calling a spade a spade" ... as the saying goes. When I see a problem - I get straight to the point, to ensure the business owner sees the problem too. When I see what's wrong, I focus on it. 98% may be right - but if there's 2% to be put right - that's where the focus needs to be - and I say so.
