Business Mentoring
My business mentoring helps business owners, company directors and entrepreneurs improve their businesses by providing guidance, advice, and support. I utilise my 40+ years’ experience of starting, building, running and selling my own businesses – sharing what’s worked for me (and what didn’t!).
For developing better strategies, improving your leadership skills, overcoming problems and challenges with greater ease, and building better networks … to name but a few … you need a business mentor.
What is the difference between coaching and mentoring in business?
Business mentoring is more directional than coaching. You get guidance and advice, which allows you to make quicker gains. Mentoring sessions include:
-
Sharing my experiences ...
... skills, and contacts – adding more valuable resources
-
Giving you an outside perspective ...
... an objective, caring, confidential, business friend
-
Challenging your goals ...
... constructively questioning your ideas, plans, and targets
-
Encouraging growth ...
... helping you identify opportunities, and seizing them
-
Helping you implement growth ...
... providing clarity on the steps needed for solid, sustainable growth, within an appropriate timescale
-
Building your confidence ...
... encouraging you and developing leadership skills
-
Improving your problem solving ...
... helping you improve your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

How will business mentoring help?
Over a six to twelve month period, business mentoring will help you to increase personal and business productivity, improve turnover and profitability, reduce challenges and stress – and bring back your smile.
Before we start working together, we will have an initial exploratory discussion to help determine if we're a good fit. On the one hand, I need to ensure I’m confident I can help you … and on the other hand, you need to be confident you can commit and take action.
Can you answer “Yes” to all the following questions?
-
Are you achieving your financial targets?
-
Do you have a clear vision of your future?
-
Are you and the business growing steadily?
-
Do you stay accountable and focused?
-
Have you got someone knowledgeable AND objective to talk with, in strict confidence?
-
Do you have clear goals, targets and milestones?
-
Do you feel happy about your work and your results?
-
Do you react constructively when something doesn't work out?
If you answered “No” to any of those questions – business mentoring will be useful for you. And the more you answered “No” – the more you will benefit from mentoring.
Mentoring sessions are generally more beneficial in person … near where I’m based in Hythe, Southampton. However, if geography does not permit face-to-face … sessions can be held online, via Zoom calls. Sometimes there is a combination of both, depending on circumstances and your choice.
£500 - £1,000 per month
The mentoring sessions have helped me to focus on taking actions, rather than keep delaying due to being busy. They have also helped to give me the assurance that I am moving in the right direction, and not wasting time on abortive jobs.
