Non-Executive Director
When I act as a non-executive director (NED) I become a board member of your company, who advises and oversees your company's executive management team. I am an employee of the company – without operational responsibilities.
Occasionally, where needed, I will also take on the role of Company Secretary.
My non-executive director responsibilities vary from company to company, depending upon the nature of the business and the needs of the business. However, common themes for all NED roles, including:
-
Providing strategic advice
-
Ensuring the company complies with laws and regulations
-
Monitoring executive directors
-
Reviewing reports, data and financial information
-
Participating in board meetings
-
Introducing the executive directors to useful connections and resources
-
Representing the company at external events
-
Liaising with shareholders
Remuneration also varies from company to company, depending upon the extent of the time and responsibilities involved. However, there is always an agreed monthly fee – which does not include typical employee benefits, pension payments, or bonuses.
£1,500 per month upwards
Bernie is an incredible strategic advisor, and NED. With his many years of experience successfully scaling businesses Bernie has bought a wealth of knowledge to the table.
Bernie keeps us on the straight and narrow, and knows how to navigate any obstacles we may encounter. Delighted to have Bernie onboard as we scale, and given his decades of experience it’s the cherry on top of the cake.
