Business Consultancy
My business consultancy helps business owners, company directors and entrepreneurs improve their businesses by providing guidance, advice, and support. I utilise my 40+ years’ experience of starting, building, running and selling my own businesses – sharing what’s worked for me (and what didn’t!).
Where we work together in a consultancy capacity, my work usually begins with a Business Health Check and all of the enquiries and investigations associated with that ‘consultation’. However, the consultancy role continues those actions on an ongoing basis – ensuring the ‘treatment plan’ is successful and coping with any ‘complications’ which might arise unexpectedly.
What does business consultancy entail?
The scope and direction of each consultancy varies considerably from business to business – depending upon your needs and the objectives to be achieved.
However, in all cases, I think as if I were the owner of the business – highlighting the good, the bad and the ugly in the same way as I have done for my various businesses over the past four decades.
Is business consultancy beneficial for businesses?
Your answers to the following questions will indicate whether you would benefit from business consultancy services:
-
Do you feel good about your business today?
-
Are you achieving your financial targets?
-
Do you have a clear vision of the future?
-
Is your business growing steadily?
-
Do you know AND understand your numbers?
-
Do you stay accountable and focused?
-
Do you react constructively when something doesn't work out?
-
Have you got someone knowledgeable AND objective to talk with about your business, in strict confidence?
-
Do you have clear goals, targets, milestones for your business?
If you answered “No” to any of those questions – business consultancy will be useful for you and your business. And the more you answered “No” the more the benefit will be.

First and foremost, it's been great to get objective advice and support in light of our current financial challenges.
Secondly, it's really helped to crystallise the areas where we need to improve, specifically around decision making from a financial rather than an emotional perspective.
Finally, knowing that there's somebody else in our corner that respects what we're doing and genuinely wants to help!
